I'm Rimmo. I grew up in Arunachal Pradesh, finished high school at Sanskriti in Delhi, and moved to the US for college. I did my undergrad in biomedical engineering at Stevens and a master's in the same field at Johns Hopkins . Along the way I picked up a data science diploma from IIT Madras and trained as an EMT (first responder).
Most of my time outside research and shifts goes to LabNinja. I'm building it because I'm tired of watching good biomedical work fail to become better medicine. Precision genomics, the part of biology that is supposed to finally personalize treatment, with drugs that work for the right people, vaccines that account for individual immune response, and cell therapies that hold up the second time you try them, keeps stalling in the same place. Not the science. The wet-lab provenance. A 0.05x drift in a bead-cleanup ratio between two postdocs. A buffer recipe that lived in a Word document and left the lab when the postdoc did. Protocols treated as institutional folklore instead of versioned code. The cost of sequencing has fallen six orders of magnitude. The cost of trusting a result has barely moved. Patients sit in that gap. That is what LabNinja is meant to fix.
The other long game is the Tani Language Foundation, where I work on preserving the languages I grew up around in Arunachal. They are not in great shape, and I'd rather not see them disappear in my lifetime.
I write on this site mostly to think things through. Some of it turns out useful. Most of it is just for me.
